Project Goals

The Phillips County Sheriff’s Office wanted to deploy a fresh new website in place of their outdated self-designed website that would be easy for guests to navigate and provided new features.

Key Requirements

Most Wanted List

Provide ongoing list of most wanted subjects with associated information

Inmates In-Custody

Display a roster of individuals currently incarcerated in the Phillips County Jail

Press Releases

Publish timely press releases for the community and have them cross-post to official social media channels

Public Records Release Forms

A way for citizens to submit requests for public records from the website

Compliments and Complaints

A way for citizens to submit compliments to, or complaints against, Sheriff's Office staff

The site must be easy to access and manage by the client

Our Solution

We set out to accomplish the Phillips County Sheriff’s Office’s goals and created a custom solution to rise to the occasion.

Ideas Generated

  • ZCarried over all information from existing site and gave it a fresh new look
  • ZImplemented a suite of tools to allow the client to manage their own press releases and automatically cross-post to Facebook, Twitter and other official Sheriff's Office social media channels
  • ZImplemented system allowing the client to publish a most wanted list with associated information about the subject's charges, identifying characteristics, last known location, images, and reward information
  • ZImplemented system allowing the client to post an up-to-date roster of persons in custody of the jail along with associated charges, bond information and booking photos
  • ZCreated a custom client dashboard complete with tutorial videos and online support

The Phillips County Sheriff’s Office website is almost entirely client-managed with the exception of hosting, security and maintenance provided by our Website Maintenance Plan.

Because they are a government organization, we wanted to ensure that the site was accesible to visitors with disabilities, so we deployed our Accessibility Widget.

We had the pleasure of working with Sursum Digital on a complete redesign of our website. What we received was beyond our expectations. Adam and his team are very professional and provide the highest level of customer service. You can tell by their product that they take pride in what they do. Thanks Adam for all you hard work.

Ever considered what it would cost to replace all of your website's conetnt if your site were ever compromised?

We built this Content Replacement Cost Calculator to help you quickly estimate that cost.

Time is money. No matter if it's a business or a hobby, your content is worth the time you've invested in it. Whether that's designing and implementing everything, writing posts, creating pages or making tweaks to make sure everything is perfect.

We think the minimum amount of time it takes to write a (good) blog post or a page is 30 minutes. If you think about it, we all probably spend a lot more time on content than that. Next time you start writing a blog post, time yourself.

So what's your time really worth? When you do the numbers, you realize what you've invested in your site and what it would take to replace it if you lost it all.

TIP: To figure out your hourly rate, divide your annual salary by 2080 hours, assuming you work a standard 40 hours a week, 52 weeks a year.
